Therapy for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC Adults in NC

All parts of you are welcome here.

Hey! I’m Katie (she/her)

I’m the founder of Belonging In Between Counseling. I’m a queer therapist of color who brings both lived experience and clinical training to our work together.

I help LGBTQ+ and BIPOC adults who feel disconnected and struggle with overthinking and self-doubt. We can work together to ease the grip of anxiety, build self-trust, and create a life that feels authentically your own.

Your mind won’t stop racing. Constantly overthinking, second-guessing, and playing out the “what ifs” in your mind.

It’s like anxiety is in the driver’s seat of your life. You feel on edge, like you’re bracing yourself for what could go wrong next.

Anxiety might show up as that persistent stomach ache that sneaks up on you at the worst times. Or that looming feeling of impending doom.

It might show up as googling “why am I so anxious all the time” or “how to stop replaying conversations in my head” at 2am when you can’t sleep.

It’s exhausting. And it doesn’t have to be the only way to live.

What I help with:

  • Anxiety & Constant Worry

  • Identity Exploration & Belonging

  • Career & Professional Concerns

  • Life Transitions

Why this practice exists

Prior to deciding to become a licensed therapist, I began my experience with therapy as a client and noticed the lack of openly queer therapists of color in the field. I founded Belonging In Between Counseling with the purpose of providing inclusive and holistic care where LGBTQ+ and BIPOC adults can find a sense of belonging as their whole, authentic selves.
